John Oleson
Founder, President and Chief Engineer
John Oleson is Stainless Motors Inc.’s founder and chief engineer. He received his BSME from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California and is a Registered Professional Engineer in California and New Mexico. Early in his career, John was involved in conceiving and developing automated machinery for plasma fractionation as the R&D Engineering Manager at Alpha Therapeutics. This experience led him to recognize the need for (and absence of) stainless steel electric motors essential to sanitary pharmaceutical and food production, so he set about to design and patent the world’s first such motors – later trademarked Sanifan Technology. In 1988, he launched Stainless Motors Inc. to manufacture his new invention, and over the years he continued to develop new products to round out the company’s comprehensive line of sanitary stainless steel motors, gearmotors and gear reducers. As a Professional Engineer and entrepreneur, John is a passionate inventor, holding numerous patents that are integral to our premium-quality brand and continues to pioneer new products and features today.
Gene Filion
Organizational Logistics Director
Gene Filion has been with the company since 1999 and has served in numerous capacities over the many years – from sales to production management. Today, Gene oversees the company’s global logistics operations and applies his deep expertise to many essential daily activities. He collaborates with our production department and suppliers to keep our supply chain flowing smoothly and component warehouse fully stocked. He has 48 years of experience in the electric motor and controls industry, and with his vast knowledge of the industry has been the point person for thousands of clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and food industries, serving their stainless motor needs.
Justin Keys
Engineering Manager
Justin Keys joined Stainless Motors Inc. in 2018 as a design engineer with a BSME from the University of New Mexico. With years of experience designing innovative solutions to suit unique, and often complex customer requirements, Justin now leads a dynamic team of design and manufacturing engineers. Justin and his team leverage state-of-the-art engineering and analysis systems to address our clients’ ever-changing needs and evolving market demands. Through Justin’s leadership, the team is credited with ensuring that SMI’s products consistently perform 5-7 years ahead of other manufacturers’ offerings.
Marcos Gulin
Business Development & Customer Relations
In 2014, Marcos Gulin joined Stainless Motors Inc. with 12+ years in metal fabrication, having held a variety of positions including machinist, welder, machine operator, fitter, and millwright. Initially tasked with developing manufacturing methods, today Marcos leads our commercial team responsible for nurturing existing customer relationships and developing new ones. Because of his hands-on manufacturing expertise and years in the field seeing our products in numerous industries and applications, he is ideally equipped to match our products with customer requirements, providing reliable, long-term solutions.

HR Manager
Nancy Martinez joined Stainless Motors, Inc in 2018 with 15+ years in Human Resources Management and a BS in Business Management from Grand Canyon University. Prior to working at Stainless Motors, Inc. she worked at one of the largest construction companies in New Mexico. Responsible for staffing, benefits and employee relations, Nancy is dedicated to ensuring an enriching, compliant and safety-oriented workplace for our employees.

Having recently joined Stainless Motors, Inc., Janet Hutchins is a dynamic leader in technical teams and an accomplished project management professional (PMP certified) with a robust background in mechanical engineering (BSME) and 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, Janet is dedicated to fostering connections and prioritizing people in every endeavor. Throughout her career, she has successfully driven strategy implementation, ensuring compliance in both product and process management. Her expertise in product lifecycle management reflects her commitment to excellence and innovation.
Lisa Palmeri Oleson
Strategic Advisor, Marketing & Global Supplier Relations
Lisa Palmeri Oleson acts in a strategic advisor capacity, guides global supply chain strategy and oversees marketing initiatives. Prior to joining Stainless Motors in 2022, Lisa stood up and led consulting organizations, project management and technical implementation teams in the pharmaceutical, enterprise software and event management industries. In addition to a lifelong career in consulting and project management, Lisa was also engaged in efforts supporting global sales and marketing strategies which serves her well in her current role at Stainless Motors Inc.
